Oh no! Elevated FSH Levels? FSH is important for growth and development during puberty and to control the function of reproductive organs [ 1 ]. In men, FSH acts on the testes to stimulate sperm production. This hormone promotes testicular growth and aids in the production of androgen-dependent proteins required for sperm cell maturation and normal sperm production [ 2 , 3 , 4 ].

FSH production is regulated by the blood levels of testosterone and inhibin , both of which are produced in the testicles. FSH production increases when the levels of these hormones are low [ 2 , 3 , 4 ].

In women, FSH is essential to pubertal development and the proper function of the ovaries. FSH also regulates estrogen secretion [ 5 , 6 ]. When hormone levels fall towards the end of the menstrual cycle, the pituitary gland is stimulated to produce more FSH.

This increase in FSH, in turn, makes the ovary produce more estradiol and inhibin [ 5 , 6 ]. The increase in these two hormones is sensed by the pituitary gland, thus reducing the release of FSH.

FSH secretion rises in the first half of menstruation and decreases after ovulation. At the very end of the menstrual cycle, FSH starts to rise and the cycle begins again [ 5 ]. The conditions we discuss here are commonly associated with high FSH levels, but this single symptom is not enough for a diagnosis.

There are obviously specific signs for many words available in sign language that are more appropriate for daily usage. I recently encountered this term, "Breakfast of Champions", and I don't know what it means.

I Googled it and found different definitions. One source says it's alcohol upon waking, some other source says it's coffee, yet another source says it's lucky charms.

Context: I started a thread asking people what they usually had for breakfast. Someone replied: " I usually don't eat anything. Just drink an almond milk green shake and wait until lunch time to eat. I like coffee as well. Black, no sugar ". To which someone else said: " Not the Breakfast of Champions?

Coors and Cornflakes "? Questions: 1. What does Breakfast of Champions consist of? What is the cultural significance of this term? As in, what do people mean when they say someone has Breakfast of Champions? If I were to guess, it probably means someone who does foolish things.
